Minecraft has seen its fair share of recreations. There are plenty of blocky take on other media, whether it is a YouTuber doing a twisty version of Tetris or a fan creating their own Dark Souls-inspired game. It's only natural then, to know that there's a whole host of people out there creating Lord of the Rings-inspired Minecraft builds.

Many of the builds we write about are large in scale and intricate, but this one from DesignMinion is all small details. Servers DesignMinion posted a Reddit video of a new entrance they'd made. It's a stunning replica of the magical door that leads into the Mines of Moria. Some people are skeptical that it leads to a mine. Others believe it is a tomb. This is a beautiful door.

If you're looking at it and wondering how DesignMinion did it, they offer a detailed explanation, which almost makes it sound like you're browsing the IKEA catalogue. "The line art is made of white concrete blocks. The stone texture was made with stone, deepslate, cyan terracotta and stone 'staircases' that escalate towards the south to make the stone grey slightly brighter."

DesignMinion did this by creating a canvas in Photoshop, copying the original Tolkien artwork, and then turning it into four maps.

Another great detail is The Watcher. Game blog He is a tiny squid dude here, but a terrifying Hobbit-eating Kraken elsewhere. The shader Sildur’s Vibrant Shapers v1.32 Medium is what makes it glow. Although it is a small detail, it is a funny nod towards Lord of the Rings that fans will love.
