A Quick Guide to Fan Tan
Fan Tan, or fancan tan is an ancient Chinese betting game long well played in China. It is just like many ancient games. There is no strategy or skill required. The rules of this card game's basic rules are simple and easy. The player is given 52 cards and then chooses two cards to face up. Two more cards are hidden within the deck. The two suits Tiger (Water) represent the planets surrounding the star cluster Sol in constellations of the night sky.
At the start of the game each player is dealt two cards face up. Once all cards have been laid out in the same way, the dealer will announce that the dealt card has been revealed. After all the reveals, another round of Fan Tan will start and the players will choose the cards that they wish to discard. The first player to reveal his cards is the one who has discarded the most cards. The player who has the most cards must reveal them. The person with the fewest cards must also be revealed. If the player with most cards discarded them then the player with less cards can continue and choose another player to keep their cards.
On the last turn, if a player discarded any of the cards and the others did not, the last person has to reveal his cards.
