Mojang's Notch is a smart guy in game design and the management of the company's 20 million+ Minecraft players is a fantastic choice. The designer has put up an open poll on his personal blog to determine whether his cuboid constituents would be comfortable with the company collecting various kinds of anonymous information from its players.

Currently, Mojang monitors when a player logs into the game. Notch's proposal is to also track "non-private information" like the length of a gameplay session as well as your PC's OS type and whether you're playing in multiplayer or single mode, and whether you're playing via the client or the web applet. The community will then be able to access the collected data "as usual."

"Naturally the information you send will be completely private," said Notch. "So it wouldn't contain any session information or your user name, and it doesn't provide any sensitive information you wouldn't want to share." 1 site We're a bit surprised that this type of data isn't already being collected, to be honest. You can vote here for anonymous data collection or against an anonymity in the case of the Minecraft nation.
