It's not uncommon to see elaborate devices built in Minecraft, but this one is a bit snarky. Reqaug has built a Minecraft machine that plays Pokemon Fire Red on the Game Boy Advance. It's pretty basic at the moment (it's lacking dialogue and combat as well as other features) but it's impressively thorough. You can also modify the level and even replace textures. According to the creator, the whole idea is built around layers of construction blocks (a recent addition) that represent tiles in the game and move when you move.

While there isn't enough here to keep you entertained, Reqaug is quick to insist that his work will "always be in development." It's more about investing enough time than whether or not a complex Pokemon recreation is possible. It's also important to note that this doesn't require modding -so long as you're using at least Minecraft 1.10 you can play it for yourself. Minecraft profiles Don't expect a frantic game like Super Mario Bros., because Minecraft isn't fast enough to draw the virtual screen in the speed required.
